- Healing HobbiesAuthorTop contributorYes, tried and experimented with onions and garlic they grow well too in the same method. No wicks used, this is purely Kratky method. Growing medium is 50-50 mix cocopeat & perlite. Here is the whole process for the onion https://youtu.be/r4MjqdRAUcE. - Darren Mc Hoveyi have never eaten veggies grown hydroponicaly. i have a garden and use old school 20 year old cow manure for dirt and fertilizer . the flavors are authentic and incredible , what is the comparison to hydro to garden grown is there a lot of flavor loss , because real vitamin D in animals and vegies should be a game changer

- Tomy MitchellDarren Mc Hovey no difference of flavour loss but in some cases if hydro is done correctly flavours and vitamin will increase compared to traditional methods.

- Steph MarieI’m just beginning to learn all this. Once you harvest everything, do you have to start a new batch of seedlings and then put them in the kratky? Or is there a way to chop off the roots from the onions you harvested and reuse them to grow a new batch?
